Katarina joined the company in May 2010 as Controller, managing the accounting and treasury departments, and supervising the human resources department and relations with third parties. She oversees the accounting operations, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures.
She is Financial and Operations Principal at Galileo Global Securities, LLC and is responsible for the firm’s compliance with the federal and state laws and regulations and the applicable financial and operational rules promulgated by the SEC and FINRA.
Prior to coming to the United States, Katarina worked as an economist in the Government of Montenegro. She was an advisor to the Health Deputy Minister on economic topics, coordinator with the Ministry of Finance, and a certified public procurement officer. She was a member of the Commission for Restriction of the Use of Tobacco Products, and an active participant in the creation and enforcement of the first health law in Montenegro to ban indoor smoking.
Katarina holds a Bachelor’s degree from The University of Economics in Montenegro, and an M.B.A. in Accounting and Finance from Baruch College, Zicklin School of Business in New York. She passed the CPA exam and is a holder of a FINOP License (Series 27).
Katarina commands fluent English, native Montenegrin, and is conversant in Greek and Spanish.
In her spare time, Katarina enjoys dancing, biking, yoga.
